Spring has sprung and with it a giddifying and glamorous calendar.
This weekend I'm set to volunteer at Twigs boutique where paper flowers blossom in our window and shoppers stampede our gate with demands of lighter clothing and picnic baskets. Then, I'm off to Chappaqua, where I will lend a hand at St. John and St. Mary Church's second annual Spring Festival
It should be known that St. John and St. Mary is a source of many Twigs volunteers. One might even say the relationship between this historic parish and our hospital philanthropy is one of "cross-pollination." The Twigs are woven throughout the Church and the Church makes more verdant our group.
What a thrill to realize the Spring Festival will offer Arthur Avenue fare, an "overflowing" wine and beer garden, carnival and casino games, irresistible entertainment in the way of live bands and our very own local radio station of WHUD 100.7 FM. Churches, synagogues, local philanthropies, and neighboring regions will be brought together by this recipe for a rollicking good time.
I hope Sybille Sparrow and Priscilla Partridge can come along. Most especially, I hope you will consider popping by Twigs boutique Saturday morning (we are open from 10 am - 1 pm) and then wing your way to the festival (see hours listed below).
Come support your rose-jacketed ladies, especially as they wear their hearts on their sleeves for Spring Festival fanfare, set for throughout this sunny weekend: May 19 (6-10 pm), 20 (1-10 pm). 21 (1-6 pm).
